2025-09-11 PRO SE Appearance by Defendant FuJinHui1998 (Received via pro se online portal on 09/11/22025)
2025-09-18 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Elaine E. Bucklo: The complaint in this case asserts intellectual property claims against "The Individuals, Corporations, Limited Liability Companies, Partnerships, and Unincorporated Associations Identified on Schedule A to the Complaint." Non-party JinHui Fu filed a pro se appearance and a motion to dismiss on behalf of defendant FuJinHui1998. But only individuals (including sole proprietorships, which have no separate legal identity) may litigate in federal court without appearing through a licensed attorney. United States v. Hagerman, 545 F.3d 579, 581 (7th Cir. 2008). The complaint does not specify the type of legal person plaintiff claims FuJinHui1998 to be. Accordingly, plaintiff must respond to the motion to dismiss 41 on or before 10/9/2025 and must allege those facts. FuJinHui1998 will then have until 10/23/2025 to reply, and if it is anything other than an individual or sole proprietorship, its reply must be filed through an attorney who has filed an appearance on its behalf. Ruling before the Honorable Elaine E. Bucklo on 11/20/2025. The Court will issue a ruling by mail. Mailed notice.

2025-10-09 RESPONSE by Victoria Yanushevskayain Opposition to MOTION by Defendant FuJinHui1998 to dismiss for lack of jurisdiction 41
2025-10-10 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Elaine E. Bucklo: Defendant Armanity's unopposed motion for extension of time to respond to Plaintiff's Complaint 53 is granted to 10/30/2025. Plaintiff's motion for entry of default and default judgment 48 against defaulting Defendants identified in Exhibit A is reset for 11/20/2025. The Court will issue a ruling by mail. Mailed notice.
2025-10-16 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Elaine E. Bucklo: Wangwuqiang888 filed a pro se appearance on 8/3/2025 24. (The docket reflects the pro se appearance was filed on behalf of plaintiff Victoria Yanushevskaya, but that error can be ignored for present purposes.) In addition to the pro se appearance, Wangwuqiang888 filed two documents signed by Wang Wuqiang. First, on 8/3/2025, a motion to dismiss for lack of jurisdiction or, alternatively, to sever for misjoinder 23. Second, on 8/6/2025, a response in opposition to plaintiff's motion for a TRO and asset restraint 25. As plaintiff points out, neither Wangwuqiang888 nor Wang Wuqiang is listed as a defendant on Schedule A. Wangwuqiang888's filings also do not identify a defendant named in this suit. Accordingly, the motion to dismiss or sever 23 is denied as moot and the response to plaintiff's motion for a TRO 25 is stricken. Mailed notice.
2025-10-20 NOTICE of Voluntary Dismissal by Victoria Yanushevskaya as to certain Defendants
2025-10-24 NOTICE of Voluntary Dismissal by Victoria Yanushevskaya as to certain Defendants
2025-10-30 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Elaine E. Bucklo: As explained in a 9/18/2025 minute entry 43, non-party JinHui Fu filed a pro se appearance and a motion to dismiss on behalf of defendant FuJinHui1998. The complaint does not allege what kind of legal person FuJinHui1998 is. Because only individuals and sole proprietorships, the latter of which have no separate legal identity from the sole proprietor, may litigate in federal court without appearing through a licensed attorney, I instructed plaintiff to address in its response what kind of legal person it alleges FuJinHui1998 to be. I further instructed FuJinHui1998 to file a reply brief by 10/23/2025, and that if it is anything other than an individual or sole proprietorship, to do so through an attorney who has filed an appearance in this case. In its response, plaintiff asserts that, to the best of its knowledge, FuJinHui1998 is neither an individual nor a sole proprietorship. Neither JinHui Fu nor any other individual, attorney or otherwise, has filed a reply to contest that assertion. Accordingly, the motion to dismiss 41 is stricken as improperly filed because, based on the information before me, FuJinHui1998 is not an individual or sole proprietorship, so it must be represented by an attorney to litigate this case, and JinHui Fu is not an attorney. Mailed notice.
